I believe the best part about the village is standing here from across the valley at different times of the day to see how the light changes the mood. This was taken during one of my sunset strolls when autumn was just starting to show its first colors. Both the castle and the church you see at the top of the village are typical landmarks of the beginning of any hilltop village (going back to the 12th century). As the village grew, houses were built both down the hill as well as artisan cellars underneath the houses as land was scarce.
